Race season is finally upon us....and I. AM. SoO. ExCiTeD! There comes a point where training becomes tedious and your just ready to race. You can feel it in your bones, your muscles and your mind! I am ready to just get out there and test the waters. I have trained hard for about 2 months with solid base, and even though I may not be at peak racing potential, racing is just a fun way to mix up your routine. In fact, racing is what triathlon is all about- hence why I did a mere 20 races last year. So this weekend I start my 2012 season off at Frost yer Fanny. This race is the South Midwests Regional Championship and it changes locations every year. I won this race last year by over 2 minutes, so I guess I have to come back and attempt to defend my title. I know, Positive thinking huh? But- This year the race is in Dallas at the Texas Motor Speedway, and I know when races are in Dallas, the girls come fast. So, if I get beat, I dont really mind because I know they are training hard too, But I also wont let up. Here I come, Dallas! This race also marks a huge memory for me. The Texas Motor Speedway Duathlon was the first multisport race I EVER competed in with the A&M Team. I had no pedals, no aero bars-just a road bike and a heart full of hope. Here is a pic from my first ever race with the team: So, going into this race knowing it is the same course, I obviously have big expectations- Pound my 2010 results to the ground. In 2010 I finished in 1:22. I biked a fast 17.9 mph and ran 6:50 pace. HA, Bring it Texas Motor Speedway! What will I race this year?!!??
