Hello Everyone! I apologize for the long delay between my current blog and last blog. Racing this year has had many ups and downs! For the good Side I have broken three course records and won 4 races! Those Races include Santa Maria Tri For Fun Sprint. (pictures Below) it consisted of a 750 M swim a 18 Mile swim and a 5k rn. I went 1:10:00 breaking my course record from last season of 1:12:00. The Next race was The Tri The Bull which was super sprint a 900 M swim, 7 Mile bike, and 5k run. This race was very fast I broke my course record by three minutes going 51:00. I have also had a few draft legal opportunities including Dallas which I placed 4th, and Monroe where I finished 10th with bike problems. On the not so good side.... I have had a few bad races as well. I raced Draft Legal challenge in Clermont Florida, on to get sick on the bike and lose control of my bowels with a mile to go on the run, not a fun day in febuary when it is lmost 90 Degrees, Yes 90 degrees is what I said. I also got a flat tire on the first lap of the ride and did not bring a wheel for the wheel pit. So on the bright side of that race I learned that my body does not deal well with Certain pasta (alfredo) and to always bring a spare wheel set when draft racing! Next I went to San Jose to race My first elite race in which I broke my bike cleat in the first mile of the race and rode one shoed for 23 miles with one very large hill climb! that race also became a dualathlon. Who knew my first duathlon would be an elite race and it took out my best component the swim. Oh Well you still need to get up and race. (lesson Learned- check every single piece of equipment before a race 2x over). While this season has been filled with many ups and downs I have learned a lot, and i will keep expaning my knowlege as the season progresses towards nationals and My elite Debut. Thanks for checking in and I will Post again next week!
