Just finished my first real week of training for Ironman South Africa. I feel great. I have been doing more neuromuscular activation and dynamic warmup before my workouts and have switched to the Paleo Diet for Athletes. I ordered and received grass fed beef jerky to carry on the truck, and since I've been home a lot more to be there when TaNihisi is born, my wife has been making poached eggs with organic turkey bacon for breakfast, and grass fed beef, buffalo, turkey or chicken for dinner with salad, sweet potatoes, spinach, or mustard greens. I am eating a lot of fresh cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon and pineapple fruit cups along with my Fitness Trucking 140.6 organic energy bar. I ran barefoot twice this week and have disciplined myself to follow the training plan and stay within HR Zones 1 and 2 during my bike and run.
